We are all born into the 'ME, I, ME, I' stage of Life...
The world revolves around our needs, our wants, and our desires...
We expect the utmost attention and demand to be the center of the Universe...

At some point, most mature a bit and move into the 'ME, You, ME, You' stage of Life...
During this phase, we recognize that the world is more enjoyable when shared with another...
We realize that our needs, wants, and desires can be paused sometimes but we still struggle with the preference to be the most important, and maintain 'ME' first...

Perhaps we mature some more and even learn to appreciate the value of restructuring our needs, wants, and desires to delay gratification when necessary and we can experience the 'YOU, Me, YOU, Me' stage of growth. We have learned to set 'YOU' before 'Me'...

Through further maturity, we find a balance and learn that 'Me, You, You, Me' is a beautiful way to live.  We learn that 'happy' can be contingent on circumstances but 'joy' comes from contentment and sharing.  We learn that as we care of ourselves, we appreciate the opportunity to care for others too...
