Should I even bother to try to Sell my home during the Holidays?

I heard some shocking news. As I stopped in to APPLEBEES for lunch. I ran into a couple who I just sold a home to. They were telling me a story about their friend is being relocated and needs to sell their Northville, Mi. area home kind of quick. They interviewed with an agent the relocation company sent over. The agent actually told them not to list during the Holidays, but wait until after the first of the year. I was shocked as that is completely false. I got talking to the buyer how busy it is right now. Interest rates are still low and new buyers seemed to pick up over night. Although it is true many sellers will choose not to sell over Christmas, buyers do not stop looking. There is an advantage to sellers who list now, there is less competition. Buyers also tend to move quicker during the holidays. Make better offers and decide a lot quicker than when there is a lot of homes to see. Later that day I got a call from that seller. My old cleints told them about our conversation and they want me to come over in the morning to list their home. They were so excited they were referred to me. The husband has to ship out the end of January and if not sold, the wife and kids would stay back to sell the home. They really did not want to be apart. I asked ALEXA to order me three GIFT CARDS, I wanted to send one to my old clients right away for referring. I will give the other sellers to celebrate their listing... and why did I buy 3 cards? I bought one for my next lunch too, but who to take? Anytime you are ready to sell is a good time to list. Buyers look for homes year round. I list and sell homes year round, so why not call me when you are ready to sell? The moral of the story is that there is a buyer for every home. This seller asked their friends and family who was the best agent to sell a home needing work. More than one told them to call me. There is a difference from agent to agent. That a Buyer or Seller should not choose just any agent, choose the BEST agent for the job.
